Hello, I’m Keri, your dedicated funeral director. I understand that this is a challenging time for you, and my role is to make everything as easy as possible. When you choose A Better Way Funerals, you’re choosing a person that cares deeply about you and your loved one.


I established A Better Way Funerals after experiencing firsthand the shortcomings of the traditional funeral industry when my mother passed – the funeral service we used left us disheartened. The push to upsell was overwhelming, the environment cold and uninviting, and the funeral director’s appearance lacked the respect we needed during that difficult time.


The experience helped me create a different kind of service, where compassion and understanding take precedence over profit. My goal is to ensure that every family I work with feels genuinely cared for and valued.


Once you engage with me, you can relax and leave every detail in my hands. I know there are countless things on your mind and your grieving is paramount. My mission is clear; to provide exceptional care, a shoulder to lean on and expert advice. I know first hand how challenging it is to lose a loved one, having lost my beautiful son Baxter recently. I am deeply committed to honouring your loved one in a way that feels right, honest and comforting.  Offering ceremonies that will be cherished by your family and friends because it’s about love, relationships, healing and hope.


The pain of losing a child is indescribable. No words can capture the agony of watching your child’s life slip away. As a mother, you feel responsibility to protect your children, and when you can’t, the heartbreak is unimaginable.


My grief is compounded by the loss of who I was before Baxter’s death; life will never be the same. I share this story not for sympathy but to help others understand that I truly know what I means to endure profound loss. Grief is unique to each person, and so too should be the celebration of a loved one’s life.

Cremation with a Funeral Service

A cremation with a service can either have the coffin present, followed by the cremation or with the cremation first, followed by a memorial service at a later date.  With both options, the ashes are delivered to the family following the cremation taking place.

Transfer is the transferring of the deceased from the place of death to the mortuary,  

within a 70kms radius. The price reflected is for a weekday transfer. The price will vary for outside hours, weekend and public holiday transfers.

MORTUARY CARE & STORAGE 

$680+GST


Mortuary care includes a nightly storage rate of $60 per night, preparation of the deceased (starting at $200).  The deceased’s stay at the mortuary and the amount of mortuary care can vary depending upon individual circumstances.

Covering the management of the funeral, burial or cremation, including all legal and administrative requirements, application for certificates and guidance throughout the arrangement. Also includes staffing on the day of the ceremony.
